Girls on the Run
Organization description: Girls on the run is a non-profit prevention program that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running.
Program Description: Volunteer coaches engage the girls in games and running-based workouts that encourage emotional, social, psychological and physical development. The girls meet twice each week after school for a total of 20 one-hour sessions.
Target audience: girls ages 8 to 13
Program length: 10-week programs during the fall and spring seasons.
Program costs: $225 per girl (sliding scale)

Sports4Kids
Organization description: Sports4Kids promotes play from a physical, emotional, and cognitive standpoint and uses physical activity programming as a framework for youth development.
Program Description: Sports4Kids’ program includes 5 components that are implemented at each school, including trainings in Sports &
Play, Conflict Resolution, and Violence Prevention
Target audience: low-income public schools.
Program length: various
Program costs: Training: Year round school program
Cost: $23K to implement in school. Sports4Kids pays ½ of the cost. Also, their trainings run from $150-$200/per hour.

Bay Area Scores
Organization description: an affiliate of America SCORES, Bay Area Scores empowers student in urban communities using soccer, writing, creative expression, and service-learning. With teamwork as the unifying value, Bay Area SCORES inspires youth to lead healthy lifestyles, be engaged students, and become agents of change in their communities..
Program Description: For 10-12 weeks each Fall and Spring, Bay Area SCORES provides a comprehensive after-school program 4-5 days a week. SCORES is FREE and offered to public elementary school children, ages 8-12. In the Fall, the focus is poetry and creative writing while in the Spring, the children engage in the Writing for the Community project.
Target audience: low-income public schools.
