Alyza Jehangir, Manager of School Relationships. As a product of eating healthy lunches, Alyza often had trouble sharing her favorite lunch with her classmates: her mother's homemade natural peanut butter and whole wheat bread sandwiches. However, after studying Sociology and Political Science at the University of Colorado, Boulder, she appreciated her mother's valiant efforts to instill values of eating whole foods, recycling and sustainability. After graduating, Alyza moved to San Francisco where she built programs for About-Face and Narika. Trying to make her dreams of traveling and earning a master's degree come to life, Alyza moved to London where she studied Community Development and worked with Body & Soul, an innovative and member-driven organization providing support to individuals and families living with or affected by HIV. She also made time to travel and found her taste buds most satisfied in Barcelona, Stockholm and London. Now that she is back in the Bay, Alyza is excited to continue her professional interest in community outreach and education; and her personal interests in cooking and crafts.
